Obama vs. the Policeman
Okay, I’ve got to rant a bit about this Obama vs The Policeman thing. I’m so sick to death of it… I can’t stand it… but what I can’t stand even more than “the issue” is Obama’s half assed non-appology. “I’ve talked to him on the phone and he’s a good man and a good police officer” yadda yadda yadda. No where did he say that he was sorry or that he was wrong about the cop… just that “he was a good man and that he didn’t know that before but now that he’s talked to him, that’s been established.” Oh Come On! I’m tired of this Jr Varsity bullshit streaming down from Capital Hill. I want a Leader that has the balls to say “I was wrong, and I’m sorry.”
One of the guys at work said something that I took offense to and I snapped at him, pretty hard. He was pushing my buttons about something and normally I shrug it off like I always do – because they really don’t know me… no one does save my wife… they don’t know what I’ve done. They only know I’m George at gun counter and I have a website and I’ve done the gun writer thing. So when he pushed my button again, a little bit of the George I thought I had buried came out to bite. It wasn’t 10 minutes later before he came up and said that he was sorry. See, that’s some balls right there. He could have grumbled or blew it off, but he recognized and he manned up and owned it. That makes a good man… a man with Character. I apologized as well – and that was it. It was as if it never happened. Done. The Subject, is laid to rest.
Now our President didn’t have the Stones to do that… and as a result, the subject continues. Weakness of Character, Obama. Weakness of Leadership. I don’t care if this guy is our President or not – he’s a pussy. How can he face down the international community… oh… wait… right… we are talking about the same guy that bowed to the Saudis.
Shit.
Our President, the Commander and Chief of US Forces, should bow to no one. He should walk into a meeting 10 feet tall wearing shiny gold plated armor carrying a Red White and Blue shield in one hand and a freaking broad sword in the other… The Saudis should have bowed to him. Instead, we had Grima Wormtongue.
No wonder the North Koreans are beating their chest and executing Christians.
Sarah Palin has bigger balls than Obama. “Never apologize for our Country.” Damn Straight!

Obama ruining the economy
I tell you what, I am sick and tired of hearing about how bad the economy is – while at the same time hearing how great Obama is. There is a disconnect of logic there the size of the Grand Canyon. Bush’s economy totally sucked according to these same morons, yet unemployment hovered around 5%. Now the economy is doing worse – with unemployment soaring near 10% now – yet Obama is Golden. News reports are calling being fired “FUNemployment”. Good hell people. Liberal Ideology and Economics do not mix. I’ve been thinking that Obama is ruining the Economy as fast and as hard as he can. Rush Limbaugh agrees with me. There are 10 parts of this video – listen to them all. Everyone needs to hear this.

Let’s Talk Cookies
Let’s talk cookies. Say, you want to sell some Girl Scout Cookies. But no one is buying them. What do you do? Pretty much you follow the good old fashioned rules of selling. You advertise the hell out of them and you put them in every city in every state, you make them hard to miss. You put your sweetest and cutest girls out there holding boxes of cookies and have them look up at guys with with wallets with their big cute eyes. That’s how you move those cookies. Ever Girl Scout knows this. This is how I’ve purchased about 985 boxes of girl scout cookies…. but that’s another story.
Okay, now lets say you want to sell some cars. You do the same thing, but leave out the puppy dog eyes. Every Car Guy knows this. Democrats evidently do not. Obama’s Posse told Chrysler to cut their advert budget in half. That’s half the advertising. Then they are told to cut dealerships. This is especially thick.
See, Dealerships are privately owned. Not owned by Chrysler or GM. You have independent owners who place orders with the factory. The factory builds the cars and ships them to the dealers. Thats all they do. To the customer, Chrysler or GM is the dealership. That’s all they see. What they are seeing is the Company cutting dealerships. What this is – is Chrysler slashing their own throats. This doesn’t make a lick of sense to me.
Every dealer wants to put new cars on his lot to show them off and move them. You cut Dealerships – you cut those orders for those new cars. You also cut all the jobs of all those people working for Not Chrysler or GM – but those that worked for those independent Dealerships. GM and Chrysler did just about the most stupid thing you can do.
Let’s say I was in the mood for another 5 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies… I’m going to go to where the cute little red haired girl has my Macaroons. Oh, wait… she’s not there. Where did she go? I don’t know. But I do know there is some Chips Ahoy right next door. Oh well… I’ll get some Chips Ahoy, because I need a cookie today. So right there – The Girl Scouts just lost a sale. That is how it works.
In my town, there use to be a Ford Dealership, and down the street was a Chevy Dealership. Well, the Chevy guy went Bat-Shit-Crazy, closed his dealership and started his own church. Reading too much L Ron Hubbard or something. Well, here we are 10 years later (or more) and there is no Chevy Dealership. Guess what most dudes are driving around in now. That’s right. Ford. (Most of the Chevy trucks you see running around tend to be either company fleet trucks owned by companies that are not local companies…. or their owners are die hard Chevy fans. And there is a lot of them here… but the majority of trucks going on here are Fords.
My point is this. The government makes for a completely shitty business manager. The government doesn’t know how to run a business. The government has no legal right to run a business. Any dealership that got shut down should sue the government because they overstepped their constitutional charter.

Erosion of Freedom

Erosion of Freedom: US Forest Service / Ashley National Forest: Motorized Travel Plans, Public Meeting held at Western Park. They started the meeting off by saying that they had identified 3 main usage problems, with the biggest being ATV-OHV use. So the answer to this, they are shutting down all OHV use save for on specifically designated trails… all use off these trails is absolutely prohibited, unless special permit is granted for such things as emergency, fire, or search and rescue. The viewpoint of the US Forest Service is that YOU shouldn’t be on there in the US Forest…. ATV’s (and they came out and said this) allow too much access to back wood areas. Not only did they restrict the trails you can use, but they also specified that you can only camp at specifically designated areas within 150 feet of the trail, and more than 100 feet from water.
My question is if they are funneling all ATV traffic into just a few specific paths – creating virtual OHV highways – when are they putting in the traffic lights? What’s funny – funny as in we all recognize the deception attempt is that they showed trails where “ATV’s had caused problems.” but they didn’t show where ATVs went… they showed tracks of where big 4×4 pickups went and tore things up. So instead of enforcing the law on those obviously breaking the laws, they are shutting it down for everyone.
After they explained their reasons for closing everything, they opened the floor to comments. Each comment was followed by them explaining why they know more about our mountain than we do. They used ownership language such as “Our Trail System” – not ours and in yours and mine, but “ours” as in The US Forest Service’s.
One girl mentioned that a trail that she had used all her life was closed at the start of hunting season last year and has remained closed since. She told of frequent and continual attempts to call for information which all remained unanswered. I kid you not, these guys responded with “call us”. This was such a joke, but they were serious. They meant that… like “call us – and fuck you very much.” That was the apparent attitude. Another lady mentioned always camping at a specific location way back off the trail… her family – and let me tell you, her family name goes back to the beginning of recorded history in this area – has camped there for ages since before there was a US Forest Service or an Ashley National Forest – The Feds response was to let them know where so they can look at the possibility of granting access to that area. The audacity of this is appalling. People used to have the right to go there into our mountain, and now we have to ask permission for privilege of going where they had been going for generations. The only erosion I see in the Ashley is our Freedom.
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t like ATV’s. They are noisy, and the riders are quite often oblivious to the disruption they are causing when someone is aiming a rifle at game and they ride right in front of you, busting your hunt. That happens all the time and every hunter I know has such a story. ATV’s are rude. However that doesn’t mean we ban all ATV’s off every trail that isn’t a designated Forest Freeway. The key word is Designated. Meaning that there are tons of old trails that people have been using forever that are not officially numbered and designated – all those trails are not illegal to use.
I’ve a proposal for the US Forest Service. The problem is not use, but unethical use. The Department of Wildlife addressed this problem the smart way. Shed Hunting is becoming popular… but some unethical hunters chase herds in the hope that this will cause some sheds to drops. The solution was a Shed Hunting Permit… available for free if you take the online course and there you go… you can now go hunt your sheds ethically. Brilliant solution… not a perfect solution but brilliant in that it addresses the problem. The US Forest Service’s solution to “the problem” is to funnel everyone into a traffic pattern that is easier to enforce and ticket. The goal here that they did not say is revenue generation, plain and simple. By putting everyone together, they can write more tickets and make more money than if everyone was dispersed because that would be too hard to monitor. It all comes down to the money… it always comes down to money.
Read the regulations HERE.
http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/ashley/projects/travel_management/index.shtml
All comments are due by June 1st and policy will be in effect by October 9th – right before Hunting Season. How convient for them… limit use and limit hunting. Oh – one more thing about the hunting… You can NOT go off the trail to retrieve game. No exceptions even for those mobility challenged. This is blatant discrimination against the disabled. The American Disability Act evidently means nothing to the US Forest Service… according to the US Forest Service guys, if you are disabled – you shouldn’t be hunting or enjoying the outdoors.
I so hope I get the chance to join the Utah State Legislature. Because I’m going to draft legislation that returns all of Utah State to the Utah State… The Feds can keep their military bases and ranges, and the rest of the State returns to Utah State Ownership. We can regulate our own forests.
(Of course I know that wont pass – but I want the message sent and heard)
